The Gyotaku Project

Long before the days of GoPros and fish selfies, Japanese fishermen would make ink pressings of their catch, an art form known as gyotaku. I’m still learning and appreciate any opportunity to practice, so if you’re a local angler—Port Washington and surrounding areas—and want a free print of your fish, drop me a line. (Please keep your fish on ice.) Fish are safe to consume afterward; the ink is nontoxic and washes off.
